| The National Audubon Society has created an extremely useful set of field guides.
These are designed to locate and identify the natural resources of the United
States. Each of the guides contains at least six hundred color photographs.
Similar species are grouped together for easy identification. Pages contain an
identification tab - left edge of center left picture - that corresponds to an
identification key in the front of the book. This helps to quickly locate the
subject. The text is presented separately. Each species is
discussed in detail. Here you will find such things as habitat, feeding habits, and
range - shown by small maps. |
| If you are into collecting minerals or fossils, you will
these guides extremely useful in locating the items you want and identifying them once at
the site. |
